Dr. Albugeaey graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah – Saudi Arabia in 2005. Between 2008-2010, he spent two years of residency training at the University of Toronto in Canada. In 2013, he competed his internal medicine training at Baystate Medical Center / Tufts School of Medicine in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 2016, he completed his general gastroenterology fellowship at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He also completed a second fellowship in therapeutic endoscopy at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital.
In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Albugeaey is specialized in performing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), luminal stent placement, celiac plexus block for cancer patients, radio frequency-ablation therapy for Barrett’s esophagus disease (BARRX). He focuses on the management of pancreatic and biliary diseases, gastrointestinal tumors and removal of colonic polyps. Dr. Albugeaey is board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. He enjoys reading, traveling and cooking.
